The palate displays considerable fruit concentration of plums and dark berries. The fine ripe tannins are very well integrated with fruity and savoury characters providing A velvety texture on the palate. James Halliday 95 points and cellar to 2026. Dickinson Estate is a four times Halliday 5 Star Winery in the Blackwood Valley. Dickinson Estate Classic 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine displays complex aromas of black currant, plum and cassis, with savoury earthiness and gentle oak support. 2016 Sunset Cabernet Sauvignon (12 x 750ml), Blackwood Valley by Dickinson Estate, 13.8% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: The nose displays an array of red and dark fruits – strawberry and blackcurrant with some underlying stewed rhubarb. The palate has ripe blackcurrant, plum and spice with a well-integrated tannin structure that leads to a long finish. There is a hint of seasoned, toasty oak on the finish. Will age for 10 + years. 2016 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (6x750 ml), Margaret River by Black Brewing Co, 14.5% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: 100 % Cabernet Sauvignon - 100% Margaret River With aromas of blackcurrant, bayleaf and mocha pair with a structured palate of dark plum, black olive, hints of chocolate and mint. The wine has fine tannins and good length. Fruit for this wine is from a coastal vineyard in Southern Margaret River. The fruit was handpicked ad destemmed int stone fermenters and left on skins for 21 days for structure and length. Once gently pressed off skins this Cabernet Sauvignon was matured for 16 months in French oak barriques, 20% of which was new. The wine received no fining and only a coarse filtra¬tion prior to bottling. Can be cellard for 7-12 years. RRP: $40.00 per bottle . GOLD MEDAL, 94 Points

2018 Cross Sections Merlot (12 x 750ml), Manjimup by Graphite Road Estate, 14.5% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: COLOUR Medium dark red colour with purple tints. NOSE Rich dark berries, plum fruit notes. Lifted and rich perfumed violets. PALATE Rich plum skin and blue fruits flavours mixed with sweet milk chocolate tannin, finishes with a rich savoury acidity. This wine has persistence and density throughout the palate and finish. W INEMAKING NOT ES The fruit was machine picked then de-stemmed/crushed into open fermenters and inoculated. The ferments were pumped over with aeration twice a day; temperature was held around 25°C. The wine was then drained to barrel for its Malo-lactic fermentation, allowing a soft integration of the grape and oak tannins. The wine was blended, fined and bottled after 10 months maturation. The wine is further aged in bottle before release. V INTAGE REPORT The 2018 Vintage will be regarded as one of the great vintages for the south west of Western Australia. Mild days and cool nights allowed for the accumulation of sugars, the slow development of elegant varietal flavours, retention of crisp natural acidity and perfectly ripened tannins. Dry conditions persisted allowing all fruit, both white and red, to ripen to perfection before being brought into the winery.

2017 Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (6 x 750ml), Margaret River by Sandalford Estate, 14.6% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: Colour: Dark cherry red. Nose: Sweet blue and black berries up front open up to savoury spices and a hint of violet floral notes. Palate: This is classic Margaret River Cabernet. It’s an elegant wine, with sweet berries up front mixed with savoury spice flavours of cinnamon, mocha and cedar. There’s also hints of juniper. The tannins are silky soft and lush, they combine with the acid to give this wine a wonderful structure and length. 2017 Dreaming Dog Cabernet Shiraz (12 x 750ml), Margaret River by Chapman Grove , 13.6% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: Herbaceous style with aromas of green leaves and musk over a Blackcurrant and Blackberry fruit background. Medium bodied with a youthful lingering finish. Aged in a combination of used French oak barrels and staves for 12 months. Cabernet Sauvignon 82% Shiraz 18%.

2012 Frazer Wood Fortified Shiraz (12 x 375ml), Margaret River by Frazer Woods Estate, 17.3% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: The deep vibrant red colour is matched by lifted fruit aromas of blackberry and plum, enhanced by notes of sweet vanilla and spice. The palate is smooth and luscious, expressing stunning dark berry, cassis and plum flavours, complemented by hints of vanilla, cinnamon and clove, with just a wisp of toasty oak. Vibrant fruit flavours persist for ever on the opulent palate, giving a lingering, smooth, round and satisfying finish, lifted with a touch of soft cleansing acid. WINEMAKING NOTES The Frazer Woods Shiraz is created exclusively from fruit of a small block of vines on the family estate in the esteemed Willyabrup Sub-region of Margaret River. Made in the traditional “vintage” style, by adding alcohol to the actively fermenting ripe Shiraz must. The active ferment is thereby halted, yielding a rich and full fruity wine with residual, unfermented grape sugar giving the characteristic sweetness of the style. Subsequent aging for three years in small oak barrels adds texture and further mellow flavour complexity.

PALAT E A well-structured palate with intense flavours of blueberry and dark chocolate. Oak spice, elegant tannins and a fresh acidity guides flavours to a long, lingering finish. W INEMAK ING NOT E S The fruit was machine picked then de-stemmed/ crushed into open fermenters and inoculated. The ferments were pumped over with aeration twice a day; temperature was held around 25°C. The wine was then drained to barrel for its Malo-lactic fermentation, allowing a soft integration of the grape and oak tannins. The wine was blended, fined with egg whites and bottled after 15 months maturation. The wine is further aged in bottle before release. V INTAGE R EPOR T The lead up to the 2017 vintage was slow, with a cool beginning to the year. Fruit set was high, so bunches were also plentiful. The cool conditions allowed slow, meticulous ripening, resulting in elegant flavours, crisp natural acids and balanced sugar accumulation. Patience was rewarded with beautifully ripened fruit arriving to the winery.

2017 Prendiville Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz (6 x 750ml), Margaret River by Sandalford Estate, 14.3% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: Colour: Dark ruby red. Nose: A complex meld of flavours that really benefits when given time to open up and evolve in the glass. This wine starts with savoury spices of bay leaf, juniper and star anise. It further opens to reveal rich dark berries, particularly blackberries and sweet blueberries, a hint of violets. Palate: Like the nose, this wine will keep evolving in the glass as you’re enjoying it. Blackberries and sweet blueberries are in abundance with the same savoury spices evolving to cinnamon and nutmeg flavours. The French oak adds layers of cedar and mocha with the tannins smooth and silky soft, yet full of power. They, in combination with the acid balance, build a beautifully textured palate, meaning the wine and all of it’s complex flavours will linger on long after you’ve enjoyed it. This wine whilst drinking beautifully now, is just a baby and with careful cellar maturation for 10 years or more, this limited release of the Prendiville Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz will certainly reward the patient. 2019 Margaret River Range Cabernet Merlot (12 x 750ml), Margaret River by Sandalford Estate, 14.4% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: Vintage Whilst the majority of Australia experienced a hot summer with above average temperatures, the southwest corner of WA experienced a relatively mild summer. Temperatures during the harvest period were below average. These milder conditions allowed for a slow ripening pattern for most varieties, resulting in excellent flavour accumulation at time of harvest. All grapes were harvested with an optimum balance of sugar, tannin and flavours. The resulting wines are displaying bright varietal characters with fresh, balanced acidity. Winemakers Comments The grapes were machine harvested during the cool of night in the second week of April. After destemming to static fermenters, the must was inoculated with a selected yeast isolate. The ferments were managed by twice daily pump overs to ensure optimal extraction of colour, flavour and tannins. After suitable extraction, based on taste, the wine was then drained and pressed to tank. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was matured with 25% new French oak and a portion in older French oak barriques, before blending and bottling. Tasting Notes Colour: Deep garnet red Nose: A deep and brooding nose of blackberry and redcurrant fruits, plum, wild mint, mulberry and chocolate box characteristics. The wine evolves and opens up in the glass revealing a real juiciness, along with oak spice, camphor and nutmeg to complement the ripe fruit notes. Palate: Generous, up front sweet fruit flavours of dark berries and plums that are balanced with savoury spice notes of bay leaf, fresh nutmeg and mocha. Medium weight with tight, fine grained tannin, supported by balanced acidity. This provides a lovely balance and a sustained finish to the wine. A wine that drinks well now, but will benefit from medium term cellaring.

2018 Sweet Red (12 x 750ml), Margaret River by Sandalford Estate, 12.8% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: Vintage The 2018 vintage was a return to the fantastic conditions that WA is known for. The preceding winter and early spring rainfall provided a good base of ground water for the vines to thrive. November was warm and dry, setting up the vines perfectly through flowering and fruit set. An extended, dry and warm summer through to the end of picking in mid-April, produced outstanding fruit to make wine from. All grapes harvested this season are of exceptional quality and showing great varietal characteristics. Winemakers Comments Sweet red is a style for those wine drinkers who often find red wines somewhat dry and tannic. There is often a cultural aspect to this and out of respect of this we have made this wine to suit those who really enjoy this style of wine. Definitely a wine to serve chilled for best enjoyment. Tasting Notes Colour: Dark garnet red. Nose: This wine is full of sweet berry flavours. Blackberries, blueberries, mulberries and hints of raspberries. Palate: As for the nose, there are abundant berry flavours on the palate. Underlying the berries are savoury spices and mocha flavours. This wine is unmistakably a sweet red.

Palate: Lush berry fruits meld with layers of savoury spices. There’s notes of Szechuan pepper, mocha and cedar. The palate has lovely weight and complexity. 2014 Cherished Merlot (12 x 750ml), Blackwood Valley by Dickinson Estate, 14.5% Alc/Vol. James Halliday Wine Companion 5 STAR 2020 Winemaking: A cultured yeast used for fermentation, pressed via tank then to oak barrel (10% new French Oak) for 11 months. Tasting Notes: The 2014 Cherished Merlot has a lifted aroma of berries and plums with a touch of violets layered over the top of French oak.
