2017 Cross Sections Chardonnay (12 x 750ml), Manjimup by Graphite Road Estate, 13.0% Alc/Vol, Tasting Notes: Pale straw with a tinge of green. Aromas of peach with cookie undertones. A palate of full flavoured peach and subtle toasty oak characters with a long-balanced finish. VINTAGE REPORT The lead up to the 2017 vintage was slow, with a cool beginning to the year. Fruit set was high, so bunches were also plentiful. The cool conditions allowed slow, meticulous ripening, resulting in elegant flavours, crisp natural acids and balanced sugar accumulation. Patience was rewarded with beautifully ripened fruit arriving to the winery. WINEMAKING NOTES The fruit was picked in the early morning, and chilled overnight before being gently pressed. Following a natural fermentation, the wine was SO2’d to prevent Malo-lactic ferment, stirred periodically to lift the lees from the bottom of the barrels. After spending time in oak, the wine was fined, stabilized and bottled.
